“When a fire destroyed a large part of a rental house, we groaned at the task of restoration. We had worked with numerous residential contractors in the past, but found many had retired while others rejected working on a fire damaged property. When Matt Coyle (dba North Star Homes) started work in the particular neighborhood, he learned of our house’s fire and introduced himself.

It was a true blessing for us. Matt is the best contractor we have ever worked with. Reconstructing our fire-damaged 1976 house presented many challenges. It was not simply a matter of restoring the fire damaged parts of the house, but also managing asbestos removal, bringing the entire house up to today’s building code and improving the interior design. Matt’s ability to manage his crew and to work with outside suppliers, with government inspectors and our insurance company adjustor was exceptional. He gave meticulous attention to details of the work at every stage, including design changes that would transform the interior throughout--not limited to simply restoring the damaged portions. Of exceptional note is how well he coordinated the work and the costs with our insurance company coordinator (who, incidentally, expressed high praise for Matt’s ability and experience). He was also a pleasure to deal with personally. We never had to worry about his work. He always kept us abreast of his progress without prompts from us. We relied completely on him and were never disappointed.

If, God forbid, we have another major reconstruction project for one of our other houses, Matt will be the first person we call. “
